A large cardboard box with the lid flaps mounted inward (cut flap sides at 20 degrees) and a door at the opening does a good job of trapping excess paint during spraying. Paint the model at the opening. Very little spray escapes during painting, and the door can be closed afterward to trap any lingering spray. An egg-crate grid may also be installed at the back to disperse overspray inside the box. This system works very well for airbrushing, but also contains spray-can paint acceptably.
