8.    The bright blue scrubs are a mix of Scale 75 Hiril blue (SF G33) plus No. 1 from Andrea’s blue set.

7.    Using a gray mix, I darkened the crevasses of the face. This adds depth and make his smile look bigger and crazier.

10.    Once finished painting the Joker’s face, I topped him off with a black cap covered in colorful “inspirational quotes.”

9.    The purple gloves are Vallejo’s Nocturna blueberry (74.031) and Nocturna orchid light (74.032).

2.    Here you can see the assembled bust. I added putty to the wrists to mask where the hands are glued to the arms. 

1.    The Joker figure comes in four parts: the body with the head, two arms, and the hands that are molded together. All are beautifully cast in gray resin.

For the October 2019 issue of FSM, I painted this creepy-cool Joker bust. He was a ton of fun — I got to use bright, unnatural colors to give the doctor a manic appearance. This is how I prepped the figure and painted his outfit.

5.    The base of the hair is a green from Andrea’s Green Set No. 5.

4.    To start painting, I primed the bust with my usual choice of Tamiya sky gray (XF-19).

3.    I also added a bit of putty where the arms attach to the body, but not much was needed — it’s a crisp-looking figure!
