Lance Barger dredged up the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” from several kits, including old Aurora, Revell, and Monogram offerings. Hearkening back to the creature and over-the-top car kits of yesteryear, he concocted a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, painted with acrylics and enamels, and used all of his airbrushing know-how to pull it off.

Cars, trucks, and motorcycles jammed the display tables in Santa Clara, California, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, for the annual NNL West show. Modelers exhibited their amazing building and painting skills in scales from 1/12 to 1/64 and could stock up on new kits and supplies in the vendor area. What’s more, NNL West, like all NNLs, was a great place to catch up with friends and soak up the scale modeling knowledge.
