On May 21, car modelers traveled to the Dallas suburb of Oak Creek for a unique show. The venue, FLOCC Studio, a workspace for creatives, encourages people to see the artistry in scale modeling. FSM editor Aaron Skinner went south to check out the show that attracted terrific talent from as far away as California. Here’s a selection of the lowriders, customs, imports, and more on display.

To model a project car in progress, Pablo scratchbuilt the internal door structure on the driver’s side, engine bay, transmission, jack and stands, and hood hinges for AMT’s 1/25 scale 1965 Buick Riviera. After applying base layers of rust shades, he used the hairspray technique to weather the body color.
