“I have always admired commercial fishing boats,” says James. To build one he remembered seeing while growing up in New Jersey, James chose a Lindberg 1/60 scale shrimp boat. He airbrushed most of the boat with Tamiya paints. The deck received two different shades of brown artist oil paints, mixed and blended with a cloth. He made the fishing net from a hair net, and the net floats are wooden beads from a craft jewelry store. For weathering and rust are pastel chalks. “Many of the ideas for finishing the shrimp boat came from the pages of FineScale Modeler. I have been an avid reader for many years.” Glad to hear it, James!
