“I wanted to make a scene of tired men going through a playground and remembering their childhood when there was not a war,” says Tony of his 1/35 scale Chechen War diorama. The centerpiece is SP Designs’ resin AZM engineering vehicle, to which he added hydraulic hoses and storage boxes. He scratchbuilt the playground equipment from brass rod and Evergreen styrene.

What Aaron likes: Modern armor has become increasingly popular at recent modeling events and Tony’s scene was one of several Chechen dioramas on display. Tony has a flair for interesting displays, and this one combines an unusual vehicle with well-painted figures on a beautifully modeled.
