The staff of FSM were saddened this week to learn of the passing of Dan Jayne, one of our longtime, highly regarded contributors. We drew much inspiration from his elaborate and clever displays. He will be missed by us all.

Dragon’s Jagdpanther Ausf G got a scratchbuilt engine, engine compartment, fighting compartment, and Eduard photoetched metal before Dan beat it up.
This was one of 10 dioramas he built which represented a fascinating time at the end of the war when smashed and abandoned German war machines littered the battlefield.
“Examining these mangled steel wrecks can really bring home the destructive nature of war,” Dan says. “Sure, a German Tiger looks cool with its huge 88mm gun. But what does it look like after being struck by a 150mm round?”
