To model the 1966 Le Mans Ford GT40 Mk.II, Len painted a 1/24 scale Fujimi kit MCW Acadian Blue and eschewed decals on the fenders, deciding to mask and paint instead. He achieved the glass-smooth finish with a clear urethane topcoat.

On March 5, car modelers gathered at Farmers Branch, Texas, for the 31st annual Showdown model contest. Winners were picked in 21 judged categories, plus People’s Choice. Here’s a selection of the scale car and truck models that graced the tables.
