Everything looks good in Gulf racing colors, including Alex Hague’s 1/24 scale McLaren F1 GTR. He base-coated the Aoshima kit with white automotive primer, used Tamiya spray-can lacquer for the black, and Splash supplied the Gulf blue.

The Houston Automotive Modelers Society (IPMS HAMS) welcomed modelers from across Texas and neighboring states to the Space City Shootout Model Car Contest and Scale Automotive Expo on June 17, 2023. The event marked the return of the HAMS show to the 10,000-square-foot Bay Area Community Center, located one mile east of NASA’s Johnson Space Center. The first HAMS contest was held in June 1990. The contest tables were filled with scale automotive eye candy in 23 categories.
