Izabella Mattox won the Youth People’s Choice at NNL West this year with her Tropical Glitz Indigo and Snow White Pearl Revell 1/25 scale 1949 Mercury. Shooting for a ‘60s-style cruiser, Izabella wired the engine, flocked the interior, and detailed the dash with decals.

More than 300 modelers attended this year’s NNL West and exhibited almost 1,000 scale models. For those who wanted to take a break from the display tables, the sold-out swap meet space on the other side of the venue had plenty of tempting offerings. Of course, the always popular door-prize table had some great stuff for participants to win. Speaking of winners, Izabella Mattox came back to win the Youth People’s Choice with her gorgeous custom Merc. The Adult People’s Choice went to Daniel Valencia for his gorgeous 1962 Pontiac Catalina lowrider. The NNL West committee made a surprise announcement about next year’s show: in addition to being the 40th-anniversary celebration, it will be NNL West’s farewell show. So, plan now to be here in January 2025!
