Mike Fisher rolled in with a Revell 1/25 scale ’32 Ford Roadster. He added a pre-wired distributor and finished the car with Tamiya lacquers.
This weathered Mopar is the work of Rusty Wagner. We’re not sure which kit he used for the ‘Cuda, but he finished it with Rust-Oleum colors and weathered using the hairspray chipping method and washes. He added the blue tarp and raised the front end to show the missing engine.
Mario Mendiola came all the way from Chicago to share JoHan 1/25 scale Turbine Bubble Top. The silky smooth finish is a mix of Kustom Mix Kandy Root Beer and Kandy Green over House of Kolor Silver Shimrin Base. Mario added a vacuum-formed bubble top to give it its signature look.
Roger Sitzes modified an AMT 1/25 scale Scotto & Blevins ’55 Nomad drag car by removing the molded exhaust and fitting and aftermarket coil, tunnel ram from his spares box, and carbs from Fireball Modelworks. Roger finished the model in Splash Paints 2K Clear.
William Bower-Leet’s NuNu/Beemax 1/24 scale Toyota Celica TA84 Safari rally car has no shortage of weathering! He painted the car with Tamiya Bright Red and Racing White from rattle cans and applied the decals. William layered acrylic paint with Vallejo mud splatter painted with a toothbrush and dusted on Tamiya Weathering Master Pastels.

To replicate a truck from the TV show Emergency!, Tom Matthews scratchbuilt a 1/25 scale Los Angeles County Fire Department Crown Truck 127. He included parts from AMT’s American LaFrance Aero Chief snorkel and Custom Pumper. The finish is Tamiya Italian Red lacquer.
Mark McCullough modeled a well-worn farm truck from an AMT 1/25 scale 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup. He made bashed-in fenders from aluminum foil, cut rust holes in the cab floor, exposed springs in the seat, cut open the door, and plumbed and wired the engine. Mark added a spare tire in the bed, 3D-printed wipers, and shattered side glass. He primed with a rusty red, painted with rust effect paint, used salt to mask for chipping under the top color, and used cinnamon for more rust over the Tamiya paint.
Patrice Borchers built an AMT 1/25 scale 1953 Ford straight from the box, painted it with Rust-Oleum colors, and weathered it with washes and pastels. For context, she placed it on a base made from insulation foam painted with acrylics, added model railroad ground cover, and cornstalks made from fake Christmas tree material.
This Revell 1/25 scale ’76 Chevrolet tow truck came in with Terry Borchers. He used the front frame suspension from a NASCAR truck, scratchbuilt the bed and boxes, modified the interior to resemble the real truck, and fully wired and plumbed the engine. The finish is rust red primer and gloss white lacquer, with sanding and powdered pastel weathering.
Kevin Rodgers painted his 3D-printed Chaparral 1 with Tamiya White and Mr. Hobby Clear. He added a brass roll bar mirror mount, helmet and goggles inside, and plumbed and wired the engine.
Bill Kener gave AMT’s 1/25 scale 1970 Camaro Z28 a pro street makeover with a completely modified chassis and a blown 572 Chevy big block motor wired and plumbed and fitted with a Morgan Automotive Detail distributor. He sprayed Tamiya lacquers through a Badger airbrush, including primer, a silver base coat, an orange metallic, and gloss clear.
Don Timon wired everything on an AMT 1/25 scale 1970 Monte Carlo Lowrider, cut open and repositioned the doors and trunk lid, opened the sunroof, added a 3D-printed sub box and Pegasus wheels. The car shines under a striking duo-chrome layer of FolkArt Color Shift Purple Flash acrylic.
Dave Roeder converted a Cox 1/24 scale 1963 Cheetah race car slot car into a detailed model. He said that he “bought it at a swap meet and had to take it apart to paint and detail” it.
Ted Mazurek built Revell’s 1/25 scale 1971 Olds Cutlass W-30 out of the box with Bare-Metal Foil trim and flocking for the carpeting inside. He painted the interior Tamiya Light Blue and the exterior Tamiya Gold lacquer.
Revell’s 1/25 scale 1971 Mustang Boss 351 took on a pro touring persona thanks to Paul Erhart. It features a modified suspension with coil-overs in front and a link rear suspension with coil-overs and a Panhard bar at the rear. He re-powered it with the motor from a 2012 Shelby GT500, then painted it with nail polish under Tamiya Clear. The kit decals supplied the stripes.
Pat Minarick originally built an MPC 1/25 scale Pontiac Grand Prix for an online contest, Cannonball Car for 2022. The 1980s car sits on a modern NASCAR chassis and Pat modified the hood to open forward. The weathered patina was dabbed on with a sponge and brush.
Andrew Graf disassembled, sandblasted, and fully customized a die-cast Danbury Mint 1/25 scale ’72 C10 short-bed pickup. He finished it using 2K automotive clear over PPG Tuxedo Black.
This is Colin Nicholson’s Revell 1/25 scale 1969 Ford Mustang. He made a number of modifications, including wiring the motor, installing machined pulleys with Fireball Modelworks Holley carb, and rolling MSD Zforce Modelworx wheels underneath. The finish is Splash Paints Grabber Blue under two layers of 2K clear.
