The Detroit Autorama Model Car Contest on Sunday, March 23, 2025, had full tables this year. With fifteen different classes, including “Slot Car,” “Junior,” and “Senior,” the “Best of Show” winner came out of the “Miscellaneous” category with Gary Besler’s Batmobile Mashup. The judges seemed to put a premium on creativity and risk-taking vs pure build quality. There were a total of 65 participants with 329 models entered, with increased entries from elementary and middle school age builders.
