The 2025 Upstate Model Contest rolled into Simpsonville, South Carolina, on May 17, drawing builders and enthusiasts from across the region to the Simpsonville Activity Center for a full day of competition, creativity, and craftsmanship. Now in its sixth year, the Box Stock Shootout headlined the event, giving modelers a chance to showcase their skills with out-of-the-box builds. This year’s contest featured a broad range of automotive and non-automotive classes—from street rods and dragsters to tanks, aircraft, and ships—highlighting the diverse passions and precision of the scale modeling community.
