For 2025, the Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) sponsored the 51st annual Back to the ‘50s car show on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
The weather was hot, but so were the 10,000 cars driven to the show. As always, a highlight was the scale model contest — a show within a show — where modelers exhibited top-shelf scale replicas, some reminiscent of the full-scale vehicles parked all around. Builders from ages 7 to 80 brought a range of model cars and trucks, from all-new to survivors built over 60 years ago.
This year’s model contest offered over 50 models that were there for display only and 156 models competing for awards in 16 classes, plus four special favorites picked by “Big Daddy” Ed Roth’s son Cody. Let’s take a look at the gallery!
