Robert’s Pegaso 54mm Italian knight was his “first serious attempt at non-metallic metal.” He used a custom template for masks to paint the shield, and finished the figure with acrylic colors.

Three hundred ninety scale models hit the contest tables at NimCon 2025 in McHenry, Illinois, on Saturday, June 14. Aircraft and scale autos had a strong showing this year, followed by armor and ships. There was a whole table devoted to paper models, and it’s always good to see junior modelers bringing their projects to contests. Don’t wait, jump into the gallery and see who we were able to coax away from the vendor halls long enough to take photos of their models!
