Wade built his Dragon 1/72 scale T-34/76 Model 1942 and added it to a base made from a picture frame, Sculptamold, and railroad ballast. He used a black and white zenithal undercoat to help guide his color modulation. Vallejo acrylic paints helped Wade complete the faded camo. Oil paint and enamel pinwashes popped details, and acrylic glazes and pigments provided mud, dust, and soot.

Modelers from all over the U.S. joined AMPS (Armor Modeling and Preservation Society) for its 2026 contest in South Bend, Indiana, on April 16-18, 2026. There were 572 entries, including tracked, semi-tracked, wheeled, and fictional vehicles, dioramas, figures, ordnance, and more. At this show, Scott Primeau, no stranger to the pages of FineScale Modeler, became the latest AMPS Master. FSM was there to photograph some of the expert models that caught our eye.
