Midwest Scale Madness scale model show and contest gallery

In its second year, MSM attracts a larger crowd and more models hit the tables
Midwest Scale Madness (MSM) returned to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, for its second annual scale model show and swap meet. With a bigger turnout than last year’s show, 70 modelers displayed 470 models, primarily focused on cars and trucks, but some brought aircraft, ships, and armor, too. As is the case with any show, we can’t shoot everything. However, we did tag models that caught our attention and also asked modelers to bring us the builds they were most proud of that we hadn’t seen before.

Paul, a former FineScale Modeler senior editor, unveiled his freshly finished Hasegawa 1/72 scale F-111 Aardvark. The camouflage is Mr. Color lacquers sprayed through a Paasche H airbrush. Paul used pre-cut vinyl masks, Caracal decals, and aftermarket bombs to complete his Takhli-based 474th Tactical Fighter Wing supersonic combat aircraft.
