Painting metallic flake

When airbrushing metallic colors, it’s important to remember to paint the part the way it is going to hang when finished. Otherwise, the metallic flakes in the paint will “sag,” causing light to reflect in a way that is not visually appealing. If you are painting a door, for example, make sure the door is vertical. The same way with a roof or a hood — paint it and let it dry while it’s horizontal and it will look better.
