As most readers (hopefully) know, it’s important to wear a filter mask and eye protection when sawing or sanding resin parts. Resin particles (a respiratory irritant) fill the air – the problem is, these particles are so fine they stay suspended for extended periods.
So, unless you want to wear your mask all night, I have a suggestion: Place the part under a flowing stream of water from a faucet while sawing. The particles get washed away rather than going into the air. The water also lubricates the saw, making cutting easier. I would still advocate wearing the mask, and especially eye protection, to protect from any bits of resin that might break off. However, by doing your cutting under water, the air should be clear after you’re finished.
