I recently was in the ribbon section of a crafts store looking for something that would have a realistic seat belt pattern for the Airfix 1/24 scale Mosquito I am building. (It’s a great build, by the way.) I purchased some Wrights Creative Classics 1/8″ (3.2mm) brown suede cord. The suede side is not useful, but you can separate the very thin layer of suede from the cord and on the back side of that suede is a great seat belt pattern. Don’t waste your time with the black or khaki cord, as the brown is the only one with a seat belt pattern. You can cut it to the desired width and it still holds together. Then, I use a white glue-and-water solution to seal and stiffen it up a little. Finally, I use pastels to dirty it up.
