While you often see Bleche-Wite (a tire cleaner) recommended for cleaning resin and styrene parts before building and painting, I find automatic dishwasher detergent less caustic and just as effective. I soak the parts in soapy water for 24 hours, then simply rinse them with warm water and let them air dry. The detergent rinses off clean, leaving no residue, and does not harm resin or plastic. One box goes a long way, so it’s cost-effective.
