Grind the teeth off the jaws of a hemostat (locking tweezers), then coat one or both of the jaws with heat-shrink tubing. (Industrial shrink tubing is usually heavier.) Now you have a nicely closing hemostat with padded jaws that won’t scratch your plastic — and they don’t slip and feed your parts to the carpet monster.
