The Union of Modellers of Ioannina (Greece) was established in 1992 from a group of people with a common interest about constructions and modelling. The modelling shop “Montelismos” of Kyros Ziagkas in Ioannina was the meeting place for a nucleus of people with different ages but with the same desire. This desire was the formation of an organized group which would express modelling as a social phenomenon and it would achieve more information and entertainment for its members. The expositions of plastic scale models, the races with RC cars, boats and planes , but most of all the Pan-Hellenic Naval Modellers Meetings in the Pamvotis lake of Ioannina, were some of the activities of our group.
