Build an affordable light box

You don’t have to have a million-dollar setup to get quality photos. In this video, FineScale Modeler Associate Editor Aaron Skinner shows you how to assemble an inexpensive light box similar to the ones he’s used to capture great images of his scale aircraft and armor models for two different books and numerous magazine articles.

What you’ll need for this project:

1 cardboard box, approximately 18 in. x 18 in. x 24 in.
1 white cloth sheet
White or light gray poster board or photo sweep
Gaffer or duct tape
Office stapler and staples
Box cutter
Scissors
Large marker 
Straight-edge ruler
3 brooder lamp reflectors
3 compact florescent daylight balanced bulbs; minimum 100 watts equivalent
