Acne wash – probably an infamous reminder of your teenage days. Well, it doesn’t have to hold that bad memory anymore. Acne wash is a fantastic product for cleaning your paintbrushes. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, but there are other brands that work just as well.

Acne washes work the same on the oils in paint as they do on your face. They have excellent cleaning power and rinse clean without harming the bristles. The salicylic acid contained in most of these soaps has no effect whatsoever on bristles, synthetic or natural.
