Straight pins for modeling

I use straight pins for all kinds of things at my workbench.

The pointy end makes a great glue applicator. But I find it works well for painting, too; I can twist the tip on a scale figure’s face and paint a perfect mustache.

Then try turning it around and using the pinhead: A tiny dip in paint and you can stamp out a perfect circle, great for lights on aircraft, knobs on control panels, you name it. Paint wipes off the metal easily so the pin can be reused.

You can also cut and bend the pins for grab handles, oil lines, and many other applications.
