Working with static grass on a diorama recently, I wanted the grass to stand up. I don’t have one of those expensive static generators, but I looked around the workshop and found a PVC pipe about 3⁄4″ in diameter and 12″ long. I grabbed a piece of old sweatshirt and rubbed the PVC. After building up a static charge, I waved the PVC above the grass and – voila! – I had good-looking grass raised with a great, cheap static generator.
