I found a source of lint-free cloth for handling canopies — packages of smartphone screen covers have several 2″ x 3″ lint-free cloths to handle the covers. When I bought some recently, I stashed away all but the one that was needed for my phone; I use the others when handling canopies or cleaning them. Covers are sold online in boxes of three, six, or 10, and only cost around $2 online. Now when you purchase a screen cover for your smartphone, can pick up a useful modeling tool at the same time.
