When straightening out antenna wires on aircraft, I like to use a punk stick like those used for lighting fireworks. It holds a nice coal on the end and provides just enough heat. it lasts longer than a glowing match tip and is not as messy as a cigarette. Simply dip it in water to extinguish it. I keep two or three around so I have a fresh one handy while others are drying.
