Experimenting in my workshop one day, I discovered a great material for small rags on 1/35 scale models or tarps in smaller scales. I use thread-seal (plumber’s) tape. It conforms well to the surface and holds folds and creases. I’ve found the best approach is to paint it first with a flexible acrylic paint, such as Vallejo or craft paint. Then I put a dab of super glue on it and form it as needed.
