Micromesh substitute

To achieve a final high sheen on plastic when smoothing glue seams or removing mold lines, I follow sanding with progessively finer grits by buffing vigorously with paper towels. A high quality paper towel seems to provide the same “grit” as an 8000- or 12000-grit sanding pad. I can get the paper towel to conform to some curves better than sanding pads or sticks.
