Masking the canopy of a 1/72 scale Miles Messenger plane, I accidentally used old tape inside the canopy, leaving a sticky residue that would not go away with soap or isopropyl alcohol.

On the Web I found a lot of recipes, and finally one that worked. I placed cotton wet with vinegar and olive oil in contact with the plastic for a night. The next day, using an old toothbrush with a little soap, all the residue disappeared and the canopy was crystal-clear after a touch of Pledge FloorCare Multi-Surface Finish!
