WonderFest 2023 scale model show photo gallery

America’s largest sci-fi, fantasy, and horror model show went bigger
Modelers from across the United States and Canada — and a few from the rest of the world — descended on Louisville, Kentucky June 9-11 for WonderFest USA and set a new record for models in the Amazing Figure Contest. The final count was 1,049 entries including ships from Star Wars, Star Trek, and Macross, big fighting suits and kaiju, heroes and villains of comic books, TV shows, and movies, and beings that will haunt your nightmares. Here’s a small selection of the models that crowded the tables.
William Webb
London, Ontario, Canada
Repurposing a Hasegawa 1/72 scale Vanship from the anime Last Exile, William tuned it into a racer mimicking a 1931 Miller-Ford Indy car, The Wonder Bread Special. He painted the vehicle with Tamiya, AK Interactive, and Mr. Color colors before adding custom decals made by Above & Below Graphics.
