We review MiniArt’s 1/35 scale GAZ-AAA plastic model kit. Molded in gray plastic, it features excellent detail. Thin, clear parts are provided for the windows and headlights. There is also a small photoetched-metal fret and decal sheet for six different vehicles.

Academy 1/35 scale Hetzer
Academy’s new 1/35 scale plastic model kit of a German Hetzer is sure to draw comparisons with the several others available from other companies. Molded in dark yellow, the overall detail is simplified, with some parts on the thick side. What makes the kit especially interesting is the scribed masking material for the camouflage pattern.

Meng’s 1/35 scale plastic model of the enigmatic mine-clearing VsKfz 617 Minenräumer is molded in light gray plastic with minimal knockout marks, mold seams, and flash. The weld beads really stand out on the moldings, but many are damaged by sprue attachments. As heavy as the box is, it’s surprising how few parts there are.…
