I needed a small sander for precision work on a recent model, so here’s what I came up with:
First, I super glued fine wet-dry sandpaper to thin styrene sheet. After the glue had plenty of time to dry, I punched circles from the sheet with a standard hole punch. (I resisted the temptation to use my new punch set for fear the abrasive would mar the top clear plastic plate.) Then, I glued posts cut from sprue to the styrene-backed discs using liquid cement. Posts out of sprue frame were then glued with plastic solvent cement. The round shape is perfect for reaching paint flaws and ridges left from masking.
