Sanding long seams

When I’m working on models with long seams (like ship hull halves), I like to layer my putty colors. I apply one color of putty, sand, and apply more putty of a different color. This way, I can see the progress of the seam filling and sanding; it’s easier to spot missed areas or low and high spots.
