November is Build a Model Month--what we at FSM affectionately call BAMM--and we're celebrating this year with another online scale model contest and sweepstakes! Make sure to check back here frequently as November approaches. We'll post rules for the contest and sweepstakes as well as a link to the contest page when it opens on November 1, 2023.

BAMM is a celebration of the scale-modeling hobby. Over the course of the entire month, we encourage scale-model hobbyists to not only their own models, but to build with others, and, in particular, to introduce someone who isn't currently a modeler to the hobby. That could be family members, friends, or people in your community. Grab a model, sit down at workbench or other horizontal surface with enough space to work and build a model kit together.

We also encourage those new to the hobby to stick a toe in and find out what it's all about. Scale modeling isn't the solitary hobby popular media has made it out to be, but thrives with communities, both locally and online, enjoys support from creators globally, and, yes, there are even magazines, books, videos, and other media devoted to the hobby.

In celebration, FSM will hold the 2nd annual Build a Model Month online model contest and sweepstakes during November 2023. The contest winner will receive a cash prize along with a cover position and story about their winning model in a future FSM issue. This year we're excited to announce Round 2 (maker of AMT, MPC, Polar Lights, and Lindberg kits), CultTVman's Hobby Shop, and Tamiya America as sponsors of the BAMM online contest.
