There is an easy way to make weld seams, antennas, cables, wires, and other long, thin details for your scale models: stretch sprue. You heat length of sprue with the flame from a small candle until it is just pliable. Before the plastic melts completely, you pull the ends of the sprue away from each other to form a thinner length of plastic. What's more, the same technique can be used on plastic rod that aren't cylindrical or tubes without losing their shape. Sound to good to be true? Watch the video and find out how you can stretch sprue for detail on your next scale model project.
