Hi Tim, that's some very useful advice. I've been using a spray can airbrush cleaner made by a company called Shesto (I'm in UK) which works well, I usually use acylic paints now. However your talk made me go and read the lable on the can, There's loads of warnings on it. Think it's mainly acetone but also contains xylene. That will be in the thinners you use. I'm now thinking that your ammonia based windex or similar will be worth a try, less risk than an aerosol spray of possibly carcinogenic chemicals! Your brushing techniques also look good, so another helpful video. .

Hi Ross! As I said at the top of the segment, I was asked what I use and wasn't necessarily recommending anything. We understand that not every technique works for everyone, and mileage may vary. Every airbrush I own has stood up find to Windex--but obviously have had other experiences. Do what works best for you. David: Thank you so much! Ernest: Always good to hear from you. Definitely, get the supplies at your preferred retailer. Many people use lacquer thinner as their go to. It's more of a use it when you need it philosophy for me regarding lacquer thinner. Thanks everyone for your comments!

I use the tiny brushes as shown in the video too but I get them at Harbor Freight really cheap like a buck or two. I only use LT as an AB cleaner for all paints including acrylics. Have been using LT for many years.??

I disagree with the use of ammonia (Windex) cleaner for acrylics in an air brush. I NEVER soaked the airbrush or it's parts in this, but after several years the chrome plating of the cup and internal channels of my first Thayer & Chandler Omni was removed. I no longer use Windex, ammonia, or anything like it to clean my airbrushes.  One rule of thumb I always follow is: Don't start painting unless you are sure you have enough time to clean the airbrush thoroughly when you are done. A "between colors" cleaning is not sufficient for more than half an hour, at most.
