You can easily make good road signs with an old soda pop can and a computer drawing (even in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint). Wash out the can, cut what you need from it, and flatten the metal. Next, make your sign in your program (or find an existing image) and scale it to the size you need. Then, print it out, super glue it to the metal, and cut around the edges to get your sign. I like to give it a pinwash to blend everything, but you don’t have to. For a beat-up look, poke the thin metal with a screw and rub it with sandpaper or a file so the metal shows.
