Improve air supply to your airbrush

FSM-RT0514_01

I wanted to improve the air supply to my airbrush. The problems I had were a little moisture in the 1/8" supply hose and, I thought, slight pulsations at certain pressure settings. I solved these issues with a 24" vertical section of 1/2" copper pipe. Using various fittings, I attached a moisture trap to the bottom of the pipe, and two 1/4" quick couplings mounted at a 45-degree angle to the top.

This assembly separates moisture in the normal fashion at the trap. Any mist that might get through condenses on the walls in the larger copper pipe, where it then drains down to the trap reservoir.

The bonus feature is this larger air capacity between the compressor and the airbrushes seems to dampen any pulsating caused by the compressor. Additionally, all my airbrushes are ready to go as soon as I flip the switch.
