Create your own glue station

To keep my workbench tidy I made a glue station that I can use when applying glues or putty. I used the plastic lid from a can of peanuts, a small piece of close-cell packing foam, and double-sided carpet tape (or any strong double-sided tape).

Using the plastic lid, I marked the packing foam, 1, then applied a strip of carpet tape to the foam’s underside and cut out the shape. The foam was then attached to the plastic lid. You’ll notice the needles, pins, and wires that I use to apply varying adhesives and putties, 2. In that photo, the left glue station is one that I have been using for several weeks; the other is new. When the glue station gets too messy, I just peel off the foam shape, toss the lid, and reapply the foam to a new lid. Oh, and all those peanuts are a tasty bonus at the workbench!
