Greg Marshall’s GMP 1/18 scale ‘34 Ford roadster has the taillights from a ‘55 Morgan. He added brake lines, plumbed the engine, and added flocked carpeting. Greg painted the car with Tamiya enamels and said it was a tribute to his father.
This 1950s pickup “was used for about 10 years then left in a barn to rot,” said modeler Mark McCullough. He added aluminum-foil fenders and 3D-printed parts to his AMT 1/25 scale 1950 Chevrolet 3100, primed, painted, and salt-chipped the rust.
Bill Kener built a Revell 1/25 scale 1941 Chevy pickup model with rack-and-pinion steering, a tubbed rear end, and a VCG Resincast engine. He added custom bucket seats, a first-generation Camaro console, a racing steering wheel, and detailed gauges. The finish is gray Tamiya primer under Tamiya Mica Blue Metallic and clear gloss.
Dave Roeder distressed and weathered his JoHan 1/25 scale ‘62 Chrysler 300 hardtop. He primed, painted with Testors Red from a rattle can, added Floquil rust and dust, and weathered with washes and a paintbrush.
To make a near replica of his dad’s ‘97 Chevy Z-71, Jimmy Schneidewind Jr. used an AMT 1/25 scale 1996 Chevy 3500 cab and ‘92 Chevy 454 bed with a 3D-printed 632 Chevy engine. He finished the truck with Rust-Oleum enamel paint.
Paul Korte built his AMT 1/25 scale Meyers Manx dune buggy with re-chromed parts and photo-etched metal pedal and seatbelt buckles. He primed the car twice, painted it with Testors Lime Gold Metallic enamel, sanded, polished, and waxed, and then clear coated the car. Paul also added a little dry-brushed gray on the underside for a bit of weathering.
Pat Minarick lowered his Revell 1/25 scale Dodge Charger SRT8, masked, painted it with lacquers, and weathered the car with acrylics to make “a modern version of the Joe Dirt car.”

This AMT 1/25 scale 1970 Buick Wildcat hardtop built by Wes Salazar has a lowered suspension, Testors CheZoom front seats, photo-etched metal seat belts, LMPC wheels, and a chain steering wheel. He faded the Tropical Glitz Art Deco Blue and Splash Paints Blue Kandy paint scheme freehand.
Ken Enders built his AMT 1/25 scale 1923 Ford Model T hot-rod delivery car with a fully-detailed 427 engine and aftermarket wires. He painted the car with Rust-Oleum enamel and hand-painted the gold striping.
Jason Gette built his AMT 1/25 scale 1936 Ford coupe mostly box stock but with a custom engine and different wheels. He primed the car with gray and topped it with spray-can paints to replicate a street rod he saw at a show.
Paul Erhart changed a lot on his Revell-Monogram 1/24 scale 1977 Chevy street pickup. He “highly modified” the chassis, scratchbuilt the back with a four-link suspension and coil-over shocks, and modified the interior with door panels and a console. To finish it off, he painted the model with nail polish lacquer under Tamiya Clear.
