Wow, that Apricot Metallic looks cool but I searched for quite a while and cannot find that exact color anywhere. I found some touchup paint somewhere for actual car but not sure it's the exact color. Sometimes part of the fun is mixing your own colors to get exactly what you want. Do you happen to have a hobby store in your area? If you do they might have some ideas about which paints to mix to get the color you want.

Hey Mr. Skinner

My name is Tony and I am disabled and bed bound I have not been out of my house for the last 13 years. I use to build star trek Models and airplane and cars I don't think I built them as nice as you guys do but I am trying to get in to more details this time around. I have several subscriptions to Model magazines including FSM I also purchased one of your books. I am trying to get back into model building but I am having a problem trying to put together a 41 Chevy pickup one of the colors that they ask for the chassis is apricot metallic I like that color but I can seem to find that color any where I was wondering if you could help with this.

P.S. Please keep those videos coming there fantastic and invaluable to me

Thank you so much for you time

Hello Aaron,

Ella is my 8 year old daughter and this is our first air brushing 'how to' video. We just wanted to thank you for taking the time to explain this all in such great detail. We are currently working on putting together a Ferrari F50 Barchetta model, this was a gift from her uncle and she is very excited about building this with her younger brother Nicholai.

We will continue to look out for more 'how to' videos from Fine Scale Modeler. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Ella and Manny Santana

Aaron, you did a great job of explaining the differences between all the different types of air brushes, and since I am about to get my first ever air brush, this series is very timely!! I can't wait to see the rest of the series.

Gravity feed air brushes are not really fed by gravity but rather paint is pulled, this is called a "venturi" same principle as a carburetor on a car. As high pressure air is passing by a low pressure area it pulls the lower pressure with it thus mixing the paint.

I noticed that this was posted Nov 11, Veteran's Day. Please speak to bosses about shutting down on Veteran's day in the future.
It is a respectful thing to do.

I'll be watching this series closely as I have been 'Air Brushing" for about a year with ELcheapo model. It does good work but it is a 1981 Datsun 210, I'd rather it be a 2009 Ram 1500.
I have my eye on several models, hard to decide.
Thanks Aaron for your time and to all the crew for the great magazine and web site.

Nice Eric, and timely. I'm considering a second airbrush and hearing the basics (again) is a huge help!
