Hi, Steve,
I've bought every copy of Fine Scale Modeler since they first came out, and I'm pretty sure I picked up that bit of trivia concerning the Aurora molds in one of their magazines. Now, I may have learned that little factoid somewhere else, but, whatever the case, I never set out to research it. I just stumbled across it, and it has always stuck with me. All I can say is Aurora was notorious for producing kits with no surface detail on the underside, so, when Monogram acquired some of Aurora's old molds, they altered a few to make them a little more realistic. At the time I thought the Monogram kits were a great improvement, and I was surprised to find out later they were actually reworked Aurora kits.
Just keep reading Fine Scale Modeler, and you'll discover you are unintentionally researching a great many things. Yay!

Referring to Bruce's comment; I wouldn't even know where to start a research project involving the history of a subject's previous kitting. Not that I want to know, I don't plan any research. It's good enough for me if Aaron & Liz say so.

I am into the model reviews, but no frivolity, like Ned said, is a bummer... Keep up the frivolity! PS I am a Sci Fi nut and appreciate the posters in the background of each review.

Bruce,
I am aware of my mistake and appropriate punishment has been instigated. Thanks for being an attentive viewer!
Cheers, Aaron

The Takom looks interesting. I like AFV'S. Thanks for the review.

I feel like I'm watching old friends giving me the update on kits I might want to add to my "I'll never live long enough" stash. As a friend, I miss your mid-presentation bit of frivolity - the commercials, the poetry, the other odd bits. I'll live without them, but I do enjoy them. And, as a friend, Aaron, what's with that haircut? You joinin' the Marines or something? OK, that's my attempt at a joke (and yes, it's lame).

I hate to be an obnoxious jerk, but not enough to avoid being one when warranted, so I am putting on my OJ hat to inform you the Se-5a was produced in 1/48th scale more than twice. I suppose the Monogram kit doesn't count because it was a reworked version of the Aurora kit, but my collection has one from Blue Max in it, plus two different versions from Roden. I'd normally request you be punished for such a horrifying faux pas, but your outtakes clearly show you've been punished enough. As long as you do some serious crying in private, and earnestly think over what you have done, I'll be satisfied.
In all other respects, however, I truly do enjoy the reviews.

Great review of all the kits. All of these look like they'd be great builds.
